Your time, your energy, your care — it all matters.
When you get involved, you help create a community where families feel supported, seen, and not alone.

General Volunteering

We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds, skill levels, and schedules.
Whether you help once a month or once in a while, your presence makes a difference.

Ways to Help:

  • Assisting during community closet days

  • Helping at community events and outreach tables

  • Helping with workshops or family support days

  • Organizing donations and supplies

  • Supporting behind-the-scenes tasks

No experience required — just willingness and heart.

We accept gently used items in good condition:

  • Clothing (children, teens, adults)

  • Shoes

  • Baby clothing

  • Hygiene products (new/unopened)

Drop-Off: During Community Support Days or by appointment.

Volunteer-Based Staff Roles

These roles support the daily work of After Hours and are treated with the same dignity and responsibility as paid staff positions.
If you want to grow in leadership and be part of our core team, this is where you belong.

Current Team Positions

Position TitlePurpose of the Role
People & Engagement CoordinatorWelcomes new volunteers, supports team communication, and builds a caring team culture.
Community Care AssistantHelps maintain the clothing & essentials space and supports families during service hours.
Community Outreach CoordinatorRepresents AHCP at community events and outreach activities.
Family NavigatorSupports families in accessing services, completing forms, and navigating resources (training provided).
Community EducatorHelps lead community classes, workshops, or support groups.
Communications & Media CoordinatorSupports social media, outreach materials, and community storytelling.
Administrative & Program AssistantProvides internal support with scheduling, communication, and organization.


Time Commitment

These are ongoing leadership roles, not one-day volunteer shifts.
We ask team members to commit to approximately 20 hours per month (about 5 hours per week).
Many responsibilities are flexible and can be completed in the evenings or remotely.
